Rialto Beach

Rialto Beach was atmospheric, ghostly and was pretty chilly after the hot weather in Seattle, in fact the Pacific coast was not all that peachy in terms of weather. We had a lovely time on the beach; particularly Mum and I picking up lots of stones (pebbles really), though I did have to unload a couple to Dad in the end.

Lake Crescent

I think this was possibly the most serene and stunning place we saw, though you can see already there was some pretty stiff competition.

Hurricane Ridge

This place is amazing, it took us an hour to get up and an hour to get down and I dropped the camera. It was still so stunning and dramatic. The views are of Hurricane Ridge and then of the glacier on top of Mount Olympus, which was about 18 miles away.

Port Gamble and Port Townsend

We went through Port Gamble on the first day and found the little old till in the local store which was also bizarrely a museum of the area and a storehouse of a phenomenal amount of shells from around the pacific ocean. Then we stayed the night in Port Townsend in a place called the Pacific Inn Motel, not too shabby, and the Mexican that night was not too bad either. The mountains and the boat were taken from just outside our motel window!

Olympic Peninsula

These are photos which have taken a long time to appear on the blog. It was a great couple of days and we saw lots of beautiful things. To start we went across to Bainbridge Island on the ferry. I thought I would include an American flag to start this album off, and then there is a seagull taken from the Bainbridge Ferry and finally Mum and Dad standing at the front of the ferry as we set off.

Brave little girl takes on Pirates!

This was fun, she just ran out of the crowd and unexpectedly started fighting one of the parade procession.  He played along though and she won!
